MNDDC Policies are general rules that the Board has enacted to guide the club in particular situations. Thread will be updated as policies are enacted. So far we just have the one . . .
1. Sponsorships 1.1 Club Sponsorships A company or individual may sponsor the club or a particular event by providing money or product for the benefit of the club. Any club member may pursue a club sponsorship by initiating contact with the proposed sponsor. Before a club sponsorship is finalized, it must be brought to the board for a decision, to ensure there is no conflict with other current club sponsors and to determine the level of benefit the sponsor will receive for the contribution.
1.2 Individual Sponsorships Club members are welcome to seek individual sponsorships for their teams. Individual sponsorships may not be promoted at club events except as provided by these bylaws. Club events include shows, demos, marketing/promotional events and competitions put on by the club.
At shows and demos and marketing/promotional events, individuals must conduct themselves at all times first and foremost as club members and in a manner that promotes the club and its sponsors. All club space--including personal EZ-ups designated for club use at the event--is to be free of individual sponsor banners or other advertising. Personal sponsorships are not to be mentioned in presentations given for the purpose of entertainment or promoting the club. Members may wear individual sponsor advertising on their bodies (e.g., hats, shirts), except when performing in a show or demo, at which time members must wear club gear, or any any other time the club has designated a particular uniform to be worn. Individual sponsorships may also be advertised on dog crates or other personal gear.
At competitions, all space designated for the use of the club in organizing and holding the competition is to be free of individual sponsor materials. Competitors and volunteers may advertise in their personal space, on their bodies (e.g., hats, shirts, other articles of clothing), and on their personal gear as they wish. Individual sponsorships may be promoted on a team's member bio on the club website. Individual sponsorships will not be announced as part of any team bio that is read by the announcer as a team is taking the field.
